<br />
We are expanding our home by two feet :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD0fsRnDaoP78FHJz5hQwKRFm72HSlpnJ9LWP4Hlv7dg1n0YGg3jsyUuXEtrh4S_xRAkDHNFNXRf8WTw81oNBrGnWwJLvEB6aPN_Pne9DnoDao6NS6eQpXR_NB2gYXrRYAoa5w7BDCxsU/s1600/Summer+2012+006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="106" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD0fsRnDaoP78FHJz5hQwKRFm72HSlpnJ9LWP4Hlv7dg1n0YGg3jsyUuXEtrh4S_xRAkDHNFNXRf8WTw81oNBrGnWwJLvEB6aPN_Pne9DnoDao6NS6eQpXR_NB2gYXrRYAoa5w7BDCxsU/s320/Summer+2012+006.jpg" /></a></div><br />
The project should be completed around February 14th, 2013!<br />
<br />
Okay, now in all seriousness, SURPRISE! It was to us as well :) We always knew we wanted to grow our family, just weren't aware it would be happening this year. However, we know that God's timing is perfect and we couldn't be more excited to add this new little bundle to our crazy-beautiful household! <br />
<br />
If any of you have seen me the past month or so and I looked "off", well, I was. I have been so incredibly sick it has been hard to function. Pray this phase passes quickly :) <br />
<br />
I am 10 weeks along and my belly is rapidly growing. I have been to my regular doctor and my endocrinologist (thyroid) and so far everything is looking great! Please say a prayer that my thyroid continues to do well in these very important upcoming months. <br />
<br />
We are so thankful for the love and encouragement we have received so far and look forward to sharing the newest baby "S" with everyone!<br />

Overall, just enjoying our new little space.<br />
<br />
The past week and a half has been a blur. We moved, I've been working most mornings and nights helping with a summer camp at the local college, and we've been attempting to unpack. Our house is a wreck and many projects are still needing to be done. BUT we are at peace in our new sweet home.<br />
<br />
The boys are in heaven with all of the space they have to run and play. Getting to watch them run, laugh and play without worries of cars, etc...has made the move worth it right there. I even think they are even getting along better because they each have more space. <br />
<br />
The only projects we have been able to accomplish are replacing a couple light fixtures and attempting to remove the rediculously stubborn wallpaper from the walls. After our last house and our current, I've decided that wall paper is bad. Very, very, bad. Yes, it can be beautiful, but still mean at the very same time. <br />
<br />
Today, though, was my last morning at the camp and I have chosen to be the mom I have been wanting to be the last month, but haven't "made" the time(okay, I haven't had much time).<br />
<br />
We are going to play outside with the boys(slip-n-slide time!), grill out, and I'm making a yummy 4th of July trifle (yellow cake, whipped cream, pudding, strawberries, and blueberries. Yum!). We are enjoying each other and, especially today, we are enjoying the freedom that has been so painstakingly fought for. Even amongst the craziness we are still blessed and thankful.<br />
<br />
I hope you all enjoy this holiday and are reminded, once again, of the blessings in your life!<br />

Enjoying watching our boys play "tackle" with the hubbs and giggle at their never ending attempts to bring down their dad. I cherish these moments. Tonight, however, is our last night in this house, so I will cherish these moments even more. <br />
<br />
It has been a whirlwind the past two months. Hence, no blogging. <br />
<br />
One night in April on our way back from one of our favorite small town eateries we took a detour coming home to take the "pretty route." It was on that drive that the hubbs spotted our soon to be home for sale. It was set on a little over an acre and a half and backed up to a pasture with cows and horses...our boys dream. It also had a wrap around porch...one of my dreams. Another plus was that it was a few minutes from the hubbs work instead of the 25 minutes now. <br />
<br />
My husband was instantly excited, he has been wanting to get back to the country for years. I, on the other hand, was not. It was in "THE COUNTRY". Not 30 seconds from a grocery store or a Sonic. It wasn't next to our current awesome neighbors or friends. It was change. It was new. I don't deal well with these things. They aren't easy. <br />
<br />
But I appeased the hubbs and went to take a look at it with our Realtor. I took in the house. Another "project" (ugh) but with good bones and not as old as our current home...okay some pluses...But still, I remained silent for most of the tour. My Realtor said it best, "a lot to take in, huh?" "YES!!" Especially since we weren't planning on a move this year.<br />
<br />
We are happy in our current home...it is our "baby." We literally put blood, sweat, and tears into this house. This is our first home and our boys first home. So many memories reside here. <br />
<br />
I believe, however, that God puts opportunities in our paths for reasons. He sets our heads spinning at times in order to bring about something good...in order to use us for HIS good. <br />
<br />
The positives for this new house outweighed the negatives (literally, I made a list). We decided to test out the waters. We prayed that if this was supposed to happen, that it would happen quickly. It did. Our current house sold in 5 days. Our offer on our new house was accepted. Okay, Lord, so I'm taking this as a "yes"? Let the packing begin....<br />
<br />
We were able to get in last week in order to do some "prep" before we had to live in it. Painting, wall paper removing, sanding, cleaning, etc, etc, etc...I'm glad we were able to get into it early, but honestly the amount of work was completely overwhelming. I don't think I was mentally prepared for this again. <br />
<br />
It doesn't feel like home...yet. I know it will happen eventually, but it's still "their" home with their touches. It will be a while, and that's okay. We went through that with this home, and eventually it became ours. So, okay, it's possible. <br />
<br />
Tonight is slightly emotional for me. We close tomorrow. That will be even more hard. I just want the new owners to love it as much as us. I want them to love our neighbors like we love them. I want them to adore, like we do, the huge Oak trees that give us much needed shade throughout the summer. More importantly I want to love our new home like I do this one. One thing I need to remember is, it's not the home, it's the family. True.<br />
<br />
I know, your probably thinking I'm being way to "girl" over this. And you're probably right. But it is what it is. I AM A GIRL! So I'm having my moment. <br />
<br />
So this has been our life over the past two months. CRAZY and changing. We are rolling with it. God also has some other changes in mind for us, which I will be explaining over the next few weeks along with our reno projects on the new house. <br />
<br />
Stay tuned ;)<br />

We have gotten our Blue Beast (aka the blue bath in our master) refinished to a shiny off-white, replaced the old seashell sinks in our bathrooms, replaced all our old brass door knobs, and now I'm cleaning every wall and cabinet and touching up paint where needed. <br />
<br />
During this crazy cleaning and project spree I discovered an untouched Mr. Clean Magic eraser amongst our cleaning supplies. I decided to give it a try on our some poor cabinets that had been "loved on" a little too much by our boys and to my surprise every mark came off! I also discovered that grime that I have been trying to get off for the last FOUR years from our stove and oven MAGICALLY came off with barely a swipe of the eraser. My first thought? "SERIOUSLY?! That's ALL it took?!" And there I went...every wall, cabinet, and appliance has now been scrubbed by Mr. Clean. I'm in love.<br />
<br />
<div<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ1gOogqeaAM-pFAdQOetTFJKDC4WBFd-ujXbjl9tvusw1xLcXyy6SrbO5UllCra51GxYbwRPyIKrK2FzARxq87BQdcJojAxwfN4HSZH3QebyEG8QlZbPNmhSQMI8m1wxCiQgu6qfKqb4/s1600/Mr.+Clean.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left:1em; margin-right:1em"><img border="0" height="320" width="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQ1gOogqeaAM-pFAdQOetTFJKDC4WBFd-ujXbjl9tvusw1xLcXyy6SrbO5UllCra51GxYbwRPyIKrK2FzARxq87BQdcJojAxwfN4HSZH3QebyEG8QlZbPNmhSQMI8m1wxCiQgu6qfKqb4/s320/Mr.+Clean.jpg" /></a></div><br />
I don't know why I hadn't used it much in the last four years since we moved in here, but I should have! It would have saved me SO much time. With the way our house looked when we moved in (TOTAL fixer)it would have made our job a lot easier. <br />
<br />
No more paper towels or other cleaning sponges for me! Magic Eraser all the way! I suggest you do the same...more expensive, but TOTALLY worth it.<br />
<br />
Just a thought from this very pleased housewife...<br />

It has been another busy, but wonderful week in this household.<br />
<br />
Some sweet moments by my boys this week...<br />
<br />
My youngest pressing his cute little hands together and bowing his head to say the prayer. Almost made this momma cry. <br />
<br />
My oldest singing songs at his end of the year "presentation" at Pre-school. He was so proud.<br />
<br />
My youngest and his new word, "CHEEEEESE". He brings me the camera and says "cheeeese" just about every day. I love hearing all of his new words!<br />
<br />
Some "boy" moments...<br />
<br />
Our youngest has a new favorite "game": Flying from the ottoman to the couch over and over and over. Typically we don't allow this, because we are trying to keep the couches "alive" a few more years, BUT he does it with the biggest smile on his face and it is incredibly hard to say no to. <br />
<br />
That's this week's Monday with the MOB. Link up or comment with your own MOB (Mother of boys...of all ages)stories from the week!<br />
<br />
**On a side note, still having computer problems. I'm not going to lie though, it is kind of nice to be forced to stay off the computer. This little "facebook vacation" of mine has been kind of freeing. And for those of you who write on my posts, my wall, or send me messages on FB, I can't get any of them :) Promise I'm not ignoring you! My incredibly old laptop made me do it...<br />

<br />
The result?! It went great! I wasn't dying, ran the whole thing (even at my grandma pace) and hit my goal time. I could have actually kept on running. All the "blah, I don't want to go running right now" training moments are worth it for the adrenaline on race day!<br />
<br />
I had a great running partner, Cathryn, who was doing her first 5k. It made it a lot more interesting to have someone to run with who kept the same pace.<br />
<br />
So what's in my running future? Right now the plan is to keep running at least twice a week 2 to 2 1/2 miles to work on speed and strength. There is a half marathon in October that I am considering doing. Well, let me clarify...not to run the whole thing (I have to constantly remind myself how incredibly bored I get while running!), but to run/walk it. We'll see about that one!<br />
<br />
And, yeah....I have pictures of the wonderful day, but of course computer problems are still present! So just imagine the me smiling with the number 43 on my shirt (descriptive, right!?).<br />
<br />
Happy Saturday everyone! <br />

I slept from 6:30 last night till 6:15 this morning. W-O-W! Not intentionally. I'm pretty sure that I have never done that before. <br />
<br />
This has been happening over the past week. <a href="http://keepingitgirl.blogspot.com/2012/01/defeated.html">Hoshimotos</a> acting up again? Probably. Stress? Definitely possible. Momma running after a busy pre-schooler and a VERY energetic toddler? Also definitely a possible reason.<br />
<br />
When I first got diagnosed with Hoshimotos I decided that to help cope with the fatigue and anxiousness associated with it I just needed to say "no" to things I typically said "yes" to in order to save whatever energy I had for my kids and husband. Lately I had finally been feeling great so I started saying yes to more again. Probably a little too much. Anxiety, stress and exhaustion has crept back into my life and apparently took it's toll.<br />
<br />
Last night I took a break. Ha, okay, a LONG break. A needed break. Although at first I felt guilty about it, I am very glad I got some rest. <br />
<br />
This morning as I was reflecting on my marathon of sleep I was reminded of Matthew 11:28, "Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."<br />
<br />
Why I didn't go to God with my feelings of anxiety and exhaustion, I don't have an answer, I should have. But God knew. He gave me the rest I needed without me asking. <br />
<br />
God is good and has given me much needed REST and peace.<br />
<br />

If you saw my post yesterday you know that my computers are not on their best behavior. Because of this, I will not have any pictures to post on today's Monday with the MOB. <br />
<br />
Some memorable moments from this week...<br />
<br />
The boys sharing toys today...this is so rare...<br />
<br />
Our oldest begging us to play hide and seek with him. To my surprise I had SO much fun! Made me feel like a kid again...<br />
<br />
Coming home on Saturday night after a date night with the hubbs to find my oldest still awake. I went in to tuck him in, he asked me to stay and sing with him. I got to lay there and hear the sweetest little voice singing his "Bible class songs" along with me. Towards the end of "Jesus loves me" I look over to see that he is signing the song while he sings. He told me he learned it at Pre-school and proceeded to teach me as well...made this momma overjoyed.<br />
<br />
Some not so memorable moments...<br />
<br />
For some reason our boys have chosen this week to be super clingy, over emotional week. Not only did my oldest burst out in tears as soon as he walks into a birthday party for his friend (thus making his younger brother do the same) he also did the same thing walking into Bible class. Yes I was concerned....and, honestly, highly embarrassed.<br />
<br />
My youngest screaming his way through Hobby Lobby and my oldest "racing" around it and somehow being ignorant to my warnings...note to self: Don't attempt Hobby Lobby by myself with two boys...they are not made for that kind of stuff. <br />
<br />
I'm sure there are more, but honestly my brain is fried and I have laundry coming out my ears (pretty picture, huh?!) so I must go! <br />
<br />
Today has actually been a good Monday so far. Here's to a great week! <br />

So, I had some great projects to share, but I am having some technical difficulties. I'm not going to lie, that happens a lot in this house. The hubbs and I don't know much about computers and are always having problems. About 3 weeks ago our main laptop started restricting me from using Facebook. Yes, that's 3 weeks without Facebook. No, I have not exploded yet. But, yes, I feel incredibly out of the loop!
And now that same laptop will not let me access my blog! That is the computer with all of my pictures, etc on it. Which means that I can't share the pictures of my projects! The computer I am on is our Mac notebook and I don't put pictures on this one (not mentioning that I don't know how!). So until we figure this out (Modem, new laptop, I don't know! HELP!) this blog will be pictureless...yeah, we'll see how this goes.
Any and ALL help is welcome :) I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Well, within the last week I went down a size!!! WOOHOO! I'm pre-baby! Needless to say I was pretty pumped, which is even more encouraging to keep up the "plan".<br />
<br />
I love quiche. Like, LOVE. I believe it is one of those super cute girly foods that can go, breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Usually when I make it I make it with a pie crust and cream...which of course is slightly less than healthy. This past week since I was loaded up with ham that the in-laws sent home from Easter and I decided I wanted to make a quiche with it. I researched (Pinterest of course!) to see if a crustless quiche could be done and actually look like it would pass the "husband test". I came across <a href="http://www.livinglou.com/2011/04/crustless-spinach-quiche.html">this recipe</a> and saw that, yes, in fact it can be done. <br />
<br />
I used the recipe for quiche that I came up with a while ago, removed the crust and the cream and well...it was AWESOME! So, I wanted to share...<br />
<br />
<b>Crustless Spinach, Ham and Cheese Quiche<br />
</b><br />
1 1/2 cups roughly chopped ham (big pieces to "Man-up" the quiche)<br />
1/2 cup shredded cheddar<br />
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella<br />
2 cups fresh, torn spinach<br />
8 eggs<br />
1/2 cup skim milk<br />
1/3 of an onion, diced<br />
1/2 tsp. pepper<br />
1 tsp. dry ground mustard<br />
1/2 tsp. garlic powder<br />
Chives if desired<br />

This ended up tasting incredible! I didn't even notice that the crust was gone. <br />
<br />
We put it together with a bunch of fresh fruit and some french bread for the man :) It made a great dinner...umm and breakfast for me the next day. Like I said, versatile! This definitely needs to go on your, must try list!<br />
<br />
Enjoy!<br />

It ended up being a crazy busy day, but a beautiful day none the less. Early in the morning my friend Becky and I took our boys to pick strawberries at a strawberry farm about 25 minutes away that Becky has been to before. It was SO much fun! I loved the fact that we were able to teach our boys about how strawberries grow and also that we got to take home a massive amount of fresh strawberries. Here are some pictures of the outing...<br />

I have decided to do that every Monday and invite other moms of boys to link up and share their week as well! All you need to do is share your own crazy wonderful stories on your blog. You can add the link to your post at the bottom of this post. Fun, right?! Please no complaining (you know the difference between complaining and telling a "funny" story) about our sweet, well meaning boys. This is just a way I have found to help celebrate that, yes, we did indeed survive another week with our boys(of all ages) that seem so foreign to us at times :) If you don't have a blog of your own, please share your stories in a comment on this post!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">This past week has been relaxed. We returned from Texas and just spent the week getting back into a routine. The weather has been beautiful so everyday pretty much included a bike ride and/or a trip to the park. </div><br />

Happy Friday to all! This is by far my favorite day of the week simply because it means we get the hubbs home with us allllll weekend! Today we couldn't wait to see him though, so the kids and I went to visit him for lunch. It's a special treat for our oldest to get to see his dad at work. <br />
<br />
I have a tendency to send baked goods with the hubbs to work and some were requested today so Caden and I made <a href="http://rita-may-recipes.blogspot.com/2011/08/lemon-brownies.html" target="_blank">these Lemon brownies</a> to take. They turned out different than I thought, but the glaze really made the brownie(except as my oldest pointed out, "They aren't brown, Mom."). I like that I can appreciate something other than chocolate :) and everyone loved them, so they are worth a try!<br />
<br />
Along with the "dessert appreciation that isn't chocolate" theme, I wanted to share these recipes with you...<br />
<br />
The first is what I created really quick before our church small group one night. We were hosting small group and my son wanted jello for dessert (he likes it in individual cups) so we made it. A couple hours before small group I realized that Jello may not be as welcomed by the adults as they would all our pre-schoolers. After looking in our cupboard I came up with an EASY recipe for Mini Coconut cupcakes with lime glaze....<br />
<br />
<div align="center"><u>Coconut Cupcakes</u></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">--Makes 48 mini cupcakes--</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">1 box yellow cake mix (made according to package)</div><div align="center">1 1/2 Tbs. Coconut Extract </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">1) Mix yellow cake mix according to package (I always substitute part of the oil for applesauce) and mix in the Coconut extract</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">2) Grease mini muffin tin and fill with cake batter</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">3) Bake 12-14 minutes</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">4) Let cool 3 minutes then add the lime glaze (below)</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><u>Lime Glaze</u></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">2 Tb Key Lime Juice</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">2 Tb Milk</div><div align="center">1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZPSanwYSr1qWxyTM61KLDj_yQlCor3GK31paDoM87cpZAh9m3ivhyphenhyphenEb_27SJNQ1cQhlohuC_ct4AFwzoAfKS4WlBX-LYDPMU9tjSn6eJozU0EennDKsjAAw62d2R_R1jIP01iMt3QtzY/s1600/Spring+2012+139.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200px" qda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZPSanwYSr1qWxyTM61KLDj_yQlCor3GK31paDoM87cpZAh9m3ivhyphenhyphenEb_27SJNQ1cQhlohuC_ct4AFwzoAfKS4WlBX-LYDPMU9tjSn6eJozU0EennDKsjAAw62d2R_R1jIP01iMt3QtzY/s200/Spring+2012+139.jpg" width="150px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(This is my favorite Key Lime Juice to use)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1) Whisk together ingredients till smooth</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">2) Drizzle over hot cupcakes (Still in pan) till they are covered (the glaze will soak in)</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGpPMJcgwWvf56op1kfQvBtx4lvtqZM5StC1HvEVT3SDlOc2eaL5NyoEIIMnCAeVexPHkhMdTfTJ2xuq_kJM46sr96KfBej0bb1IeerloBtie25OZXL8EC2MkEUmc5Az6-6rAHApBASLk/s1600/Spring+2012+137.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" qda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGpPMJcgwWvf56op1kfQvBtx4lvtqZM5StC1HvEVT3SDlOc2eaL5NyoEIIMnCAeVexPHkhMdTfTJ2xuq_kJM46sr96KfBej0bb1IeerloBtie25OZXL8EC2MkEUmc5Az6-6rAHApBASLk/s320/Spring+2012+137.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">3) Let the cupcakes cool then pop them out of the pan</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBkt0ECHpBvx4ZRNcnmCCxloKv9I4WwaMNiWa_TZxQPI99vUk5HoAls-b-oH6NJ_x0snVcopeeikd5lvPzdqoPFLtA_CKGzNzXGDS6eTJdvV-Vjvb8ip4r5P1VGq1Txpy11n2KXrn-pUY/s1600/Spring+2012+138.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320px" qda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBkt0ECHpBvx4ZRNcnmCCxloKv9I4WwaMNiWa_TZxQPI99vUk5HoAls-b-oH6NJ_x0snVcopeeikd5lvPzdqoPFLtA_CKGzNzXGDS6eTJdvV-Vjvb8ip4r5P1VGq1Txpy11n2KXrn-pUY/s320/Spring+2012+138.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The verdict? These were gone...quickly. Also, in my opinion, they must be mini cupcakes to get the lime glaze/coconut cake ratio just right :) I think they are a perfect summer treat that isn't too "heavy" on the hot days. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Easy, right? Normally I would try to make the cake from scratch, but this ended up being just right and quick to boot!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw-FADGeBNFbM6ad3sCrgbQTr04EIeROA55xK1_rpob0tcXMKPUzaKAem2OgtajxQsvHt5dy3_JKZ-x6quF6xucDgZDPav3sAWryGNW4DLDFn6T2COtEwHUAJnWKafXpQ16pe4tTSWoAE/s1600/Spring+2012+149.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" qda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw-FADGeBNFbM6ad3sCrgbQTr04EIeROA55xK1_rpob0tcXMKPUzaKAem2OgtajxQsvHt5dy3_JKZ-x6quF6xucDgZDPav3sAWryGNW4DLDFn6T2COtEwHUAJnWKafXpQ16pe4tTSWoAE/s320/Spring+2012+149.jpg" width="320px" /></a>Next, is the recipe for Coconut Buttercream icing I made to top <a href="http://keepingitgirl.blogspot.com/2012/04/party-like-its.html" target="_blank">these Pineapple Coconut cupcakes </a>(Again, the pineapple cupcakes are from a box) for the baby shower I hosted last week.</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
<br />
<br />
<u>Ingredients</u></div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1 Cup unsalted butter at room temperature</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">3 cups sifted powder sugar</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1/4 tsp salt</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1 Tbs COCONUT extract</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">2 Tbs milk</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">(Yellow food coloring is optional)</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">1) Beat Butter for a few minutes on medium speed</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">2) Turn mixer on low and add the powdered sugar</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">3) With beater on medium add the salt, extract, milk, and yellow food coloring if you choose and beat for a few minutes</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">To top cupcakes with icing I use a decorating press (I will never go back to using a knife to top cupcakes!)</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Another thing I will never go back to is icing from a can...buttercream is easy and SOOOO good! I discovered this after my sweet friend, Jessi, brought us Buttercream cupcakes to reveal the gender of their baby. One taste and I was done with the store bought icing!</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Both of these recipes scream warm weather and summer to me. I hope you are able to make some soon so you can welcome Summer as well! </div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div align="center" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">Happy Weekend to all! </div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I love having parties! Don't you?! I love the planning, decorating, the FOOD, and the great fellowship that is involved...The cleaning of the house on the other hand......well, luckily the good outweighs the necessary cleaning in the occasion.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Last week I, along with some wonderful ladies, had the privilege to host a baby shower for our dear friend, Meredith. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">We decided to do a "Spring" theme which included flowers, eggs, and bird's nests. We did pastels and because we originally did not know the gender of the baby we had a lot of yellows and greens, BUT a couple days before we found out they were having a girl so we redirected a little bit to add PINK to the decor. Pink is so much fun to me, mainly because I don't get to use it often!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">Today's chair is courtesy of our neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Baker.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">One day on our way home I noticed this chair sitting on the curb in front of our neighbors house. It looked like it was in good condition, so I sent the Hubbs and our oldest down to ask Mr. Baker if they were getting rid of it. Sure enough, they were :) The chair looked a little "off" and I soon found out why. The Bakers said that it used to be a rocking chair, they got to the point where they didn't need the "rockers" so they removed them. Leaving a short chair with a tall back. Even though it looked off, I decided I could figure out something to make it look more normal.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjytpTmGyQ4osk-2iDZ0GscAJkn8Qo6zludOYWi-tANHvfNjB4ObMz-s3Qvy65m6_6K-w9wZKuqSR2XUOmER9BvuZ0omAP2OO1C70YaFWeRdTMJbDjJEkQ7dqwTbmkmCfQjc2LTSHdRbY/s1600/Winter+2011+614.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjytpTmGyQ4osk-2iDZ0GscAJkn8Qo6zludOYWi-tANHvfNjB4ObMz-s3Qvy65m6_6K-w9wZKuqSR2XUOmER9BvuZ0omAP2OO1C70YaFWeRdTMJbDjJEkQ7dqwTbmkmCfQjc2LTSHdRbY/s320/Winter+2011+614.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I decided to buy 4 decorative fence post toppers to screw into the legs of the chair. They would give it height and some "bulk".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidtX4w52pflOl8ZECGGqXigu45qZY9aOeJJv5GGQa5lFTqBZNV_7oNBKrqaAogmuWrm46DS2xNgFuly5LM85qGvYNVxYpTPbEm4AV51cb76lIFnG-vl5cLdwoYMXzpapyGGJzgmiTrJCw/s1600/Winter+2011+618.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidtX4w52pflOl8ZECGGqXigu45qZY9aOeJJv5GGQa5lFTqBZNV_7oNBKrqaAogmuWrm46DS2xNgFuly5LM85qGvYNVxYpTPbEm4AV51cb76lIFnG-vl5cLdwoYMXzpapyGGJzgmiTrJCw/s320/Winter+2011+618.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I chose to put an ivory as the 1st coat of paint and my new favorite color, Hosta Leaf (I used it on <a href="http://keepingitgirl.blogspot.com/2012/02/chalkboard-sign.html" target="_blank">this project</a> as well). I also chose a matte polyurethane spray to seal it all in.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3OewRuoNDG1YilZdXxeD8iHvdbUap26CX_uLvp2L9dAbLbPiLScUPj6I3e28KgzD1mQMjW2KFgU6FeA-aSkGr3l4Ph9tyrVNXFZ8dprNIAYPPLMFkj2PvVtH_L5wUuDzjHh4Tz-Els38/s1600/Winter+2011+619.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240px" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3OewRuoNDG1YilZdXxeD8iHvdbUap26CX_uLvp2L9dAbLbPiLScUPj6I3e28KgzD1mQMjW2KFgU6FeA-aSkGr3l4Ph9tyrVNXFZ8dprNIAYPPLMFkj2PvVtH_L5wUuDzjHh4Tz-Els38/s320/Winter+2011+619.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">To begin we had to sand all of the poly (the shiny parts) off of the chair so that the spray paint adheres well. I used the whole can of the ivory as the first coat and then used two cans of the Hosta Leaf . After the paint had dried I sanded down some edges, corners, etc... to give it the worn in look. After sanding I applied about 3 coats of the Matte Polyurethane spray. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And this is the finished product......</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZwUNlgfE4Y45noe5AnpoiOmdPeD2MVSt13Rm1V-hWXOnwZ1-c_tLUw8SUNTwBm187lDqqbLbL_Bg3BgfEDPWigesh161N97QBeNb11iF6ORk4NtTK3Cd7JYm073rNJAjT1vyqLIRLICY/s1600/Spring+2012+169.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400px" nda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZwUNlgfE4Y45noe5AnpoiOmdPeD2MVSt13Rm1V-hWXOnwZ1-c_tLUw8SUNTwBm187lDqqbLbL_Bg3BgfEDPWigesh161N97QBeNb11iF6ORk4NtTK3Cd7JYm073rNJAjT1vyqLIRLICY/s400/Spring+2012+169.jpg" width="300px" /></a></div><br />

The next couple days I will share a few chairs that I have recently finished. This post has been a few months in the making...<br />
<br />
In december after picking our son up from a friends house we saw these chairs on the side of the road...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPdYjZ11RAG-N6Tcwwn-ntfJq7rWp1PYmmUdeoFHisLmR5wzYBgqUbMNujYiQHuXgpgr9XNzuPNqRFMuZOhpRSm_tzHHq_DN8gGhbPOl_hFUhEM9WRb5VwToOhiyZ2H0L8kpVptDfMcGk/s1600/Winter+2011+615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPdYjZ11RAG-N6Tcwwn-ntfJq7rWp1PYmmUdeoFHisLmR5wzYBgqUbMNujYiQHuXgpgr9XNzuPNqRFMuZOhpRSm_tzHHq_DN8gGhbPOl_hFUhEM9WRb5VwToOhiyZ2H0L8kpVptDfMcGk/s320/Winter+2011+615.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">...and because I have no shame when it comes to these types of things, I picked them up!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Our current table is a beautiful old table that has been in my brother-in-laws family for many years. They gave it to us and we fixed it up and re-upolstered the chairs that came with it. We love this table, but it only has 4 chairs and when guests come over we have to pull out the ugly card table chairs. Not so inviting! After seeing these two chairs on the side of the road I decided they were going to be our *new* guest chairs. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">First things first...reupolster! I found a fabric I loved that was on sale for $6 a yard and got foam 50% off(I love me some deals!). We have our staple gun to staple the fabric in place, pliers to pull the staples out of the old cushion, and a serated knife to cut the foam. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0mUk70RaQEjfZZMI6JWY39K20DnzpsA_g0AG06lgnGJZThiHvGRLtQe-rbcs1ChZ1PrmHW4B9xZfM8pzIykKzp4vqw9OmBT6JgZKY9tse_IMp2MWDWjsodwDIqfnEiLJpVFILc5a_kl4/s1600/Winter+2011+620.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0mUk70RaQEjfZZMI6JWY39K20DnzpsA_g0AG06lgnGJZThiHvGRLtQe-rbcs1ChZ1PrmHW4B9xZfM8pzIykKzp4vqw9OmBT6JgZKY9tse_IMp2MWDWjsodwDIqfnEiLJpVFILc5a_kl4/s320/Winter+2011+620.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center">We realized there were TWO layers of upolstery to remove and A LOT of staples! We also discovered that these chairs were so old the they were stuffed with actual cotton, not foam. We ended up needing to cut new seats to upolster to because the original ones were cracking.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhJvNXUDN9UC7dfu0A_y6r1lWLbGDeKG1RZpOKdKcz7nfze7Lq6JpOjPyp_ljVZs7VHNd-e2jSPtBzE-phdAp_2FNBiH-sihcHNNK46VW0RPLopVqxvSQURTDnETRp2jGlNpxs91bK6v0/s1600/Winter+2011+621.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="240px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhJvNXUDN9UC7dfu0A_y6r1lWLbGDeKG1RZpOKdKcz7nfze7Lq6JpOjPyp_ljVZs7VHNd-e2jSPtBzE-phdAp_2FNBiH-sihcHNNK46VW0RPLopVqxvSQURTDnETRp2jGlNpxs91bK6v0/s320/Winter+2011+621.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Next I sanded the chairs down to remove the original finish. We had to completely rebuild one of the chairs with screws, wood glue, etc...because it was falling apart. I chose a dark tan to paint them because I didn't want a dark brown (It would look fake next to our dark brown stained chairs). The outcome?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKEa3o-Ai68QtfwyIQ3s4y1dl6QKs7JvJ2-9TzfBJRGrSU3_yGBBNGX1LiXe0cBk6pjTAr4ey5MQ9uN-o7MNikTzcs8xfe_5kkm5pdspG1eg7FRAHw7wJTWrDGw_JkG5hISGv5HnV5tBk/s1600/Winter+2011+787.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKEa3o-Ai68QtfwyIQ3s4y1dl6QKs7JvJ2-9TzfBJRGrSU3_yGBBNGX1LiXe0cBk6pjTAr4ey5MQ9uN-o7MNikTzcs8xfe_5kkm5pdspG1eg7FRAHw7wJTWrDGw_JkG5hISGv5HnV5tBk/s320/Winter+2011+787.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Steril. Something that looked like it belonged in my doctor's office. Blah.....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So, I tried a technique of rubbing a dark stain into the deep wood grains of the wood (On top of the paint we already had on them) to give them a darker color and "texture".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ_UvmnVS8RdIQiWbMob8PpFB5qqPq1aGBFItKvq2rdQQrHulRzqchX92y5tU0ng4pFiio8k3rAnrp89lBwgECLV4fY6pZE9__cvJcmh-mscdKZzd203rL5aRjzcncL48QrXXK8HkgX3A/s1600/Winter+2011+789.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ_UvmnVS8RdIQiWbMob8PpFB5qqPq1aGBFItKvq2rdQQrHulRzqchX92y5tU0ng4pFiio8k3rAnrp89lBwgECLV4fY6pZE9__cvJcmh-mscdKZzd203rL5aRjzcncL48QrXXK8HkgX3A/s320/Winter+2011+789.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The result? GREAT! But, it didn't "fit" in our house....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sooooo back to the drawing board again.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Step 5,301) Sand down again!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The next color I decided to try was a dark hunter green. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The result? Too blue.....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">SOOOOO I tried the stain technique again, but this time on top of the hunter green.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The result?! Well, they are less blue at least..."They are fine, I'm tired of redoing these chairs, so I'm just going to say uncle and decided to "love" the color and go with it."</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We screwed the seats into place and they were finished!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Meet Stickers, our new family dog. Yes, dog. Even though it looks like a rat, it is, in fact, a dog. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Since I've been sewing pillows a lot lately I have had bags of pillow batting laying around the house. The bags have pictures of all kinds of stuffed animals on them. My son saw them and decided that I <em>needed</em> to make one. My thoughts? "<em>Umm, Seriously? A stuffed animal? No, thanks..."</em> And of course with his amazingly accurate memory he did not forget about it. So, because I love my child, I attempted to figure out how to make a stuffed puppy(his choice). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Thanks to some tutorials online this is what I came up with....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

We are in project mode still and today we finished up our garden area and planted our Zucchini and Cucumber plants that are already crazy big. <br />
<br />
So I thought I'd do a quick round-up of some highlights from my boys over the past week or so....<br />
<br />
Quote from my oldest: "Mom, can you please go away?" Envision him poised towards our youngest waiting for me to leave so he can take his toy... :)<br />
<br />
My youngest today as he dove(purposely) into a mud puddle while some friends and I were letting the kids play at a nearby college campus. In an attempt to make him "cleaner" he became shirtless the rest of the time while still having a blast in the puddle. Cute boy was in his element. And then later on tonight when we arrived at a track night(the kids get to run and have "races" with other kids) at the same college I was getting our youngest out of the car and realized we forgot his pants. HA! So, yes, he was shirtless and pantless on the same campus in one day. Needless to say he didn't mind a bit :)<br />
<br />
The next pictures are from the hike we took the boys on last Friday. They LOVED it! They could throw rocks, jump off rocks, play in the dirt (get dirty), splash in the water, and just be free to be boys....<br />
<br />

<br />
My family loves baked oatmeal and I do too, but it can be pretty bad on the--uh--hips if ya know what I mean. I took a few recipes I had, tweaked it to our tastes, and then lightened it and made it more hearty...that way we don't start the morning with a big sugar rush! After a friend's suggestion I also started making it the night before to let the oats soak(to soften). It makes the morning craziness a little easier to know I don't have to "cook" amongst the chaos. <br />
<br />
Here's the recipe I have figured up....<br />
<br />
<div align="center"><u><strong>Light-n-hearty Baked Oatmeal</strong></u></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Serves 6</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><strong>1) Whisk these ingredients in a large bowl:</strong></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">3 tbs. corn oil</div><div align="center">1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce</div><div align="center">2 Tb sugar</div><div align="center">1/4 cup brown sugar</div><div align="center">3 egg whites</div><div align="center">1 Tb. milled Flax seed</div><div align="center">1 Tb. vanilla</div><div align="center">1 1/2 cups skim milk</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><strong>2) In a smaller bowl mix:</strong></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">1/2 tsp. salt</div><div align="center">2 tsp. baking powder</div><div align="center">2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats</div><div align="center">1 tsp. cinnamon</div><div align="center">dash of nutmeg</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><strong>3) Combine the two mixtures in the larger bowl then add:</strong></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">1/4 cup craisins</div><div align="center">1/4 cup raisins</div><div align="center">1/3 pecans (I like big chunks) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><strong>4) Make sure the ingredients are well mixed then pour into a greased baking dish</strong></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

My computer hasn't been on it's best behavior so I decided to take that as a sign to enjoy my wonderful hubbs who is home for the week and also get projects knocked off the list. A friend lent me her sewing machine for the week which meant I could get a lot of sewing done for the pillows and curtains in our *new* master bedroom. There has also been a lot of painting and spray painting done this week...yay!<br />
<br />
Here's a sneak peek of some of the projects I've been doing all week....explanations will come later!<br />

I hope each of you have celebrated this wonderful holiday in all it's glory. Like I said in my post yesterday, this is my favorite holiday. Green is my favorite color and this holiday gives me a great excuse to go crazy with it! <br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">The holiday started off with my take on "green" nail polish. It's called "Need a refreshing Mint?" by Wet-n-Wild. I know, again, with the Wet-n-Wild. Inexpensive nail polish (This one I got for $.99!! with a coupon of course), but this is seriously an awesome polish. It has this great flat brush that lets you paint your nails incredibly fast and it stays on your nails great. All-in-all, I like it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNmQcjvnSgDjf9fOXfQquGtOr54r6ip22DvJBVU7c1ZmSHiJeXgC_pIe2ZNOGQliLQx1LEpWDGjLULd6O8EZDtKvhnq7KSLu6e0ADBlUk4FM3PN0oUInMPzXNHcHRFSxEQ9zqRu7Zkj1A/s1600/Winter+2011+018.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img aea="true" border="0" height="320px" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNmQcjvnSgDjf9fOXfQquGtOr54r6ip22DvJBVU7c1ZmSHiJeXgC_pIe2ZNOGQliLQx1LEpWDGjLULd6O8EZDtKvhnq7KSLu6e0ADBlUk4FM3PN0oUInMPzXNHcHRFSxEQ9zqRu7Zkj1A/s320/Winter+2011+018.jpg" width="240px" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br />
</div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;">And I digress....anyways, there is this book I love for St. Patrick's Day called, "Twas the Night Before St. Patrick's Day". It is a twist on the "Night Before Christmas" story. In short it is about 2 kids who set traps to try to catch a leprechaun to find out where he hid his treasure. The leprechauns make messes and in the end still tricks them in a cute way. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0448448521/ref=sib_dp_pt#reader-link" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="The Night Before St. Patrick's Day (Reading Railroad)" border="0" height="300px" id="prodImage" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61JpEOwXGSL._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-sticker-arrow-click,TopRight,35,-76_AA300_SH20_OU01_.jpg" width="300px" /></a></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; text-align: left;">So for the past few days the "Leprechauns" have come and made messes in our house with my boys toys and left "footprints" to prove it. Our son loved it and wanted to catch the leprechaun. The fun ended with him getting to still have a piece of the rainbow and some of his "treasure"(Rolos). </div><div style="text-align: center;">On the way home from church last Wednesday night we were passing by all kinds of fast food restraunts (which was not helping the "hungry, but I need to eat healthy" thought) and I began craving ice cream. Knowing I had almost made it through the whole day and had not "blown" my healthy food plan I knew I couldn't give in. Instead, I created this.....</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><u>Chocolate Strawberry Frozen Yogurt</u></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">2 oz. plain fat-free yogurt</div><div align="center">2 oz. vanilla yogurt</div><div align="center">1/2 tsp. dark choclate cocoa powder</div><div align="center">2 or 3 strawberries, diced</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">1) Put yogurts in a bowl and mix to combine</div><div align="center">2) Mix in cocoa</div><div align="center">3) Add diced strawberries and mix</div><div align="center"><br />

</div><div align="center">In other news, tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. My favorite holiday of the year(No, I'm not lying)! Green has been my favorite color for a long time and this gives me a great excuse to go overboard in it! This year has been exceptionally fun because our 1st born is finally old enough to have fun with on this holiday(I'll explain tomorrow!)</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I hope you have your green meals, pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, and green clothing all ready for the BIG day tomorrow!!</div><div align="center"><br />

How many women(okay, and some men...) are now inspired to go beyond our "norm" all because we now have a place to store great ideas AND steal (in a good way of course!) ideas from others? Millions!<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/111253053264387253_9O9ZmmIc_c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img alt="Pinned Image" border="0" height="200px" id="pinCloseupImage" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/111253053264387253_9O9ZmmIc_c.jpg" width="200px" /></a>Have you noticed how many people are now celebrating St. Patrick's Day (and not just wearing green)who never did before? All because of that darn cute fruit rainbow with the pot of gold that's rolling through Pin-land!</div><br />
Or how many moms are doing WAY more creative activities with their kids because of all the colorful pictures the scroll by our eye?<br />
<br />
<div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><a href="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/104990235032686715_qZHEKCeJ_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Mexican Baked Eggs...Chance would love this..." border="0" class="PinImageImg" data-id="104990235032686715" data-src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/104990235032686715_qZHEKCeJ_b.jpg" height="200px" jquery17106772236904853492="92" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/104990235032686715_qZHEKCeJ_b.jpg" style="opacity: 1;" width="133px" /></a>Or how many more incredibly happy husbands there are because of the awesome dinners their wife is (finally) inspired to cook?! All because we get so darn hungry every time we scroll through our "Pin-Wall"!</div><br />
Or how much "cuter" homes look with new <a href="http://keepingitgirl.blogspot.com/2011/09/pinning-is-winning.html" target="_blank">decor outside and in</a>?<br />
<br />
Yep, thank you, Pinterest.<br />
<br />
Thank you for the joy I now feel towards random, hardly celebrated holidays.<br />
<br />
Hobby Lobby thanks you.<br />
<br />
Lowes thanks you.<br />
<br />
Our local supermarkets thank you for our spur of the moment cravings.<br />
<br />
Our families thank you.<br />
<br />
Some think we waste time on Pinterest, but I say NO, no, we don't. We are creating a better life for our family. That's my story...and I'm sticking to it ;)<br />
<br />
